Student-led organizing is the heart of URIP. Since its founding in 2005, URIP has hosted numerous social work interns who work with student-led organizations and school administrations to build better anti-racist and anti-oppressive curricula and programming at their schools.
The legacy of student organizing in the United States has had a major impact in effecting social change. We encourage each and every one of you to get involved and advocate for the changes you would like to see happen in your schools. By joining your student groups, you would be contributing to sustaining a movement that would improve social conditions for our global community. Through our collective efforts, we have POWER to transgress! There are student organizations within your Schools of Social Work that are doing anti-racist and anti-oppressive organizing. If you are interested in joining the movement, below you will find links to the various student organizations at your school. If your school does not have a group, feel free to contact URIP and we can help you build a student organizing group!
